TUESDAY, APRIL 26TH IS NATIONAL PRETZEL DAY
HISTORY SNAPSHOT – as the story goes the Pretzel was an evolution of the Catholic Monks, trying to figure out what to do with the left over dough – so they came up with a pretzel aka praying hands, or the knot, representing the Holy Trinity (depending on who you ask). In the 1700’s Pretzels made their way to America with the German immigrants who were later to be known as the Pennsylvania Dutch.
