Blues in the Loft: Mike Griot- Friends featuring Bill Sims Jr., Eliza Neals and Tomás Doncker

June 5, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Pulling from his fabulous South Mountain International Blues Festival events, Mike Griot’s performance will present a “blues/soul/rock” cavalcade of premier musicians and performers – all heavyweights in their own regard.

Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Bill Sims Jr. is an internationally-respected master of the blues, and has lent his talents to many theater and film productions. His film credits include Lackawanna Blues, Miss Ruby’s House, American Gangster and Cadillac Records. He was also the subject of a critically acclaimed PBS documentary, An American Love Story, in 1999.

Eliza Neals is an award-winning, sultry, powerful blues-rock-soul vocalist and recording artist. She is also a composer, publisher, and producer who has been compared to greats such as Etta James, Janis Joplin, and Ricki Lee Jones.

Tomás Doncker has been performing  for over four decades, working with people as diverse as Madonna, Sean Lennon, Bonnie Raitt, Ivan Neville, Bill Laswell, Bobby Caldwell, Sadao Watanabe, Meshell Ndegeocello, Yoko Ono, Steel Pulse and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa, to name a few.

Advance ticket reservations are highly recommended for this must-see event! Last year’s Blues in the Loft featuring Mike Griot & Friends sold-out early on!
