Hopewell Valley Historical Society Presents: Additions and Alterations to Historic Homes
January 29, 2017 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Additions and Alterations to Historic Homes And the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation
Speaker: Eric Holtermann, AIA, Principal at HMR Architects, Princeton, NJ
The character of a historic residential neighborhood can be identified by the scale, materials and detail of the existing buildings as they have changed over time. With care, modern additions and alterations can be designed to respect the existing historic character, while accommodating modern requirements.
The Secretary of the Interior’s “Standards for Rehabilitation”, administered by the National Park Service, establish guidelines for architectural changes to historic buildings.
This program will look at historic patterns of residential additions, and will include images of additions which meet the Standards, as well as some that do not. Cosponsored by the Hopewell Valley Historical Society. For more information click here.
